Popular soft slide refurbished at Jump Space thanks to Simplyhealth

Healthcare provider Simplyhealth has donated £2,686 to Jump Space, a soft play and sensory centre based in Stockport for children and young people with physical and learning disabilities.

The specially adapted centre has four professional standard trampolines, a fully accessible play and recreation area and a state of the art sensory room. The donation from Simplyhealth funded much needed refurbishments to the extremely popular soft slide at Jump Space, which has had some wear and tear since its installation in 2010.

Jump Space welcome over 300 people to the centre every week, including siblings and families of children who experience barriers to mainstream sport and are unable to access other means of activity and recreation in the region. Its specially adapted facility  together with a team of fully trained employees enables disabled individuals to overcome the barriers of isolation, keep fit, improve their wellbeing (and have lots of fun!) in a safe, secure and non judgemental environment.

We can’t thank Simplyhealth enough for the kind donation. The slide at Jump Space is custom built and designed to challenge people of all ages and abilities to ascend and descend steps, and to experience the feeling of sliding. We think it’s really important that brothers and sisters are able to come to Jump Space together, instead of being segregated into ‘mainstream’ and ‘disabled’ clubs and groups, and parents often tell us how much they appreciate the opportunity to involve the whole family.

We jumped at the chance to be able to support this great charity. Jump Space has become an important part of everyday life for parents and carers in the area and we hope that many children and their families will enjoy the new slide and other parts of the centre for many more years to come.
