Centrepoint receives funding for gym in Bradford

Healthcare provider Simplyhealth has donated £3,675 to fund a gym at Centrepoint in Bradford, the UK’s leading charity tackling youth homelessness.

Centrepoint helps homeless young people aged 16-25 to get their lives back on track and has centres in Bradford, Greater London and the North East of England. As well as accommodation they provide services that ensure young people become healthy, have access to education and learning opportunities and crucially gain the essential life skills needed to escape homelessness for good.  In Bradford alone, they support more than 320 young people.

We regularly ask our young people what activities they would most like us to provide at our main centre in Bradford - a gym is the most frequent answer. We’re extremely grateful for Simplyhealth’s support in making their wish a reality.

Providing activities that young people want to take part in means that we can get them on site, engaging with staff and ultimately help build the relationships needed to support people into independent lives.

The gym will, not only help our young people to become healthier, it will also introduce them to other activities that happen on site including health and wellbeing workshops, job clubs and support with CV writing and interview skills.

Centrepoint is a great charity which provides a range of services for young people in our local community. We’re pleased to be funding the gym for its main centre in Bradford as not only will it keep young people fit and healthy, it will also help increase their self-confidence and team building skills which are all fundamental to assist with their future.
