Simplyhealth comments on Laing Buisson’s Health Cover UK Market Report 2016

Mark Hamson, Managing Director of Corporate & Consumer, Simplyhealth comments:

“We’re pleased to see from Laing Buisson’s latest report that Simplyhealth has increased its corporate book and continues to be the market leader in everyday health cash plans, with 43.1% market share.

The report highlights that there’s been a healthy increase in the number of corporates and employers taking more responsibility for the health provisions of their employees. While the individual health cash plan market is in decline, we believe this is partly due to the fact that more employees are receiving health cover from their employers.

Our new strategic direction means we continue to be in a strong position to support people across the UK with their everyday health needs now and into the future – through a combination of funding, delivery and guidance solutions or propositions.

We’re aware that in the corporate market, there is a growing demand to support employees with both their current and future health needs, especially in light of the current pressures and challenges on the NHS. In response to this, we’ve recently launched our ‘Care for Life’ forum – a dedicated, free, social networking platform designed to support people with caring responsibilities and their families. The platform enables people who need more and better advice about caring to share and discuss their concerns with other people in similar situations.

We’ve also just unveiled our biggest everyday health partnership with The Great Run Series. This is a great fit for our brand as we promote everyday health and work together to encourage people to lead more active, healthier, happier lives.

Having identified that there is an increasing demand for our corporate clients to support their employees with everyday health plans, we want to be the first place people come to for support with their everyday health needs. We look forward to continuing our development of innovative and accessible products and services that enable people to make the most of life through better everyday health.”
