Simplyhealth Independent Living supporting Saxon Woods School

Simplyhealth Independent Living has donated a powered wheelchair to Saxon Woods, a school for children with physical disabilities in Basingstoke. The Bugzi powerchair has been given to help support children’s confidence to use an electric chair and be unaided, possibly for the first time.

We are very grateful to Simplyhealth Independent Living for donating the Bugzi powerchair. Ollie, who’s one of our pupils, has taken a particular liking to it. From using the Bugzi at school, he has become familiar with the controls, and has gained valuable driving experience.  We’ve also bought a lap strap and harness for the Bugzi so that our pupils with more severe disabilities can use it too.

We decided to donate the Bugzi to a school so it would benefit many children in our local community. The Bugzi powerchair is a great way for children to learn how to use a powerchair safely, develop their spatial awareness and ultimately become independently mobile from an early age. It’s great to hear that our donation has already benefitted Ollie, and we hope that it can help more children in the future.
