Counselling sessions at The Harbour to increase thanks to Simplyhealth

People affected by life threatening illnesses in the Bristol area now have access to more frequent counselling sessions at The Harbour, thanks to the support of local healthcare provider Simplyhealth.

Sam Thomas from The Harbour says: "Being told that you or someone you care for has been diagnosed with a life threatening illness can be a devastating blow. The Harbour provides free counselling and psychotherapy to people in these circumstances, as well as supporting people who have recently been bereaved by life threatening illness."

"We want to say a huge thank you to Simplyhealth for its continued support. The £2,400 donated by Simplyhealth will help us to support more people in the local area and will also allow us to kick start our new Partnership Programme. This programme has been designed to help businesses offer better support to employees and customers who are affected by life threatening illness."

Jamie Wilson, spokesperson for Simplyhealth comments: "The Harbour is a great local charity that provides support to a huge number of individuals in the Bristol area. We are delighted that we are able to support the charity once again this year and look forward to receiving an up date on the success of its new Partnership Programme."

The Harbour provides professional counselling and psychotherapy, free of charge, for people affected by a physical life-threatening illness. This service is delivered by qualified and experienced counsellors and psychotherapists, and adheres to The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Code of Ethics and Practice.

Simplyhealth has active community funds in four of its locations, Andover, Bristol, Leeds and Manchester, which exist to support charities and organisations in the local community.
