Don’t be a One Month Wonder. Stay fitness focused for February

New poll shows that people need inspiration to maintain their New Year fitness resolutions - and it’s just too easy to be lazy.

  • A whopping 68% of people would be happy if they only managed to maintain their New Year fitness resolution for January
  • 30% of people polled were not confident that they could keep exercise-themed resolutions going into February
  • Just 44% of those surveyed have ever successfully completed a fitness resolution for a full year
  • 25% of people depend on social media to help motivate them to stick with their fitness resolution
  • ‘Laziness’ was the most common reason given for people giving up on their fitness resolution

With January barely behind us it appears that people are content if they stick to their fitness New Year resolutions for just one month.

A survey carried out by everyday healthcare company Simplyhealth has revealed that 68% of people would not be disappointed if they only managed to stay on track with their fitness goals for January alone.

As part of their commitment to getting millions moving across the UK, Simplyhealth polled 1000 people who made an exercise-themed resolution for 2018. Of those surveyed just 44% of people had ever successfully completed a fitness related New Year resolution before.

When it comes to staying motivated, 25% of people agree that they rely on social media for helping to motivate them to stick with their exercise-themed resolution.
