With January barely behind us it appears that people are content if they stick to their fitness New Year resolutions for just one month.
A survey carried out by everyday healthcare company Simplyhealth has revealed that 68% of people would not be disappointed if they only managed to stay on track with their fitness goals for January alone.
As part of their commitment to getting millions moving across the UK, Simplyhealth polled 1000 people who made an exercise-themed resolution for 2018. Of those surveyed just 44% of people had ever successfully completed a fitness related New Year resolution before.
When it comes to staying motivated, 25% of people agree that they rely on social media for helping to motivate them to stick with their exercise-themed resolution.
Our goal is to help people make the most of life through better everyday health. We already help millions of people to budget for their everyday healthcare needs, but we also know how important being active is to physical and mental wellbeing. That’s why we want to inspire millions of people to move more and support them to remain active throughout the year. It’s never too late to set a goal, make it fun and ultimately reap the health benefits.
To help get resolutions back on track for a more fitness focussed February Simplyhealth has teamed up with one of the kings of healthier lifestyles, blogger Alex Dodson aka @TheFoodGrinder. He will be running an Instagram Live workout session at 11am on Saturday, February 3rd and sharing tips and ideas throughout the month on the company’s health & wellbeing online hub.
To add to the motivation there will also be competitions throughout February to win places at Great Run Series events across the UK such as the Simplyhealth Great North Run.
Simplyhealth is the UK’s leading provider of everyday health cash plans, dental payment and animal health plans. Since becoming title partner of the Simplyhealth Great Run Series in January 2017 Simplyhealth has encouraged employees to take up activity to help improve their health and wellbeing with some 25% of its workforce having taken part so far.
