Employees at Simplyhealth support major hospice fundraiser

Healthcare provider Simplyhealth is bringing a splash of colour to Southampton on 7 September by supporting Naomi House’s Rainbow Run.

Participants in the Rainbow Run will be covered in coloured paint at numerous points along the route. The 3km run starts at Southampton’s Guildhall Square and takes runners through Watts Park and East Park, finishing on Above Bar Street.

Simplyhealth have sponsored one of five ‘paint stations’ along the route and will be there on the day to shower the hundreds of runners with yellow paint as they pass by.

The Rainbow Run is going to be one of the biggest events we have ever organised. It is sure to be very popular and we cannot wait to see hundreds of people running through Southampton’s streets as the paint begins to fly. We are hugely grateful to the team at Simplyhealth for playing their part in creating this incredible spectacle.

We’re delighted to be continuing our support to Naomi House. We have supported the charity for a number of years through our dress down Charity Wednesday’s and also with staff sponsored events. The Rainbow Run is set to be a great day, full of colour, to raise money for a fantastic cause and we can’t wait to throw our yellow paint.

Naomi House’s Rainbow Run event will be the first of its kind to take place in a city centre location. Fundraisers at the Sutton Scotney charity hope the event will raise more than £30,000 for the Caterpillar Appeal, a major redevelopment of the hospice building including increasing the size of children’s bedrooms and bathrooms, creating dedicated play and music therapy spaces and the installation of high specification technology needed by children in the charity’s care.

Registration for the event is still open and costs £12 for adults and £8 for children. The event will begin at 11am and is expected to be one of the most popular events the charity has organised.
