Andover based Simplyhealth has been awarded Gold standard in the Corporate Engagement Awards 2021, a prestigious awards ceremony that recognises companies across Europe that demonstrate the very best in creative engagement of their employees and customers.

Simplyhealth was successful in the category of Best Internal Communications for the way the company communicated with its employees and the services it offered them throughout the pandemic.

This included a bespoke programme of well-being initiatives and a range of colleague challenges aimed at keeping colleagues connected while working remotely as well as raising money for a vast range of local and national charities including the I Can Therapy Centre in Andover, Trinity Winchester and the Down’s Syndrome Association.

Libby Kearsley, Head of Corporate Communications at Simplyhealth
Over the past 18 months we really have lived through extraordinary times and at Simplyhealth we knew how important it was to keep our colleagues connected, while physically not being together.

Our communications efforts were fully focused, not just on updating our colleagues, but also engaging them and giving them opportunities to virtually come together on a regular basis. I’m over the moon that we have received this accolade and it’s a testament to the hard work of people throughout the company to be acknowledged alongside such a vast range of high- profile companies.
Libby Kearsley, Head of Corporate Communications at Simplyhealth
The last two years have been without precedent. We have all had to cope with new ways of engaging with the people, organisations and brands that touch our lives. Companies have also adjusted and the focus on reputation has become so important.

It is a record year for entries, and all of the winners should be proud of their achievements and of their ongoing commitments to their communities, internal and external, the environment and to society at large.
Andrew Thomas, publishing editor of Communicate magazine and founder of the Corporate Engagement Awards

Simplyhealth’s entry was commended by judges. “Shows deep understanding of what their employees need” commented one judge, while another said, “Clearly had a profound impact on employees and a meaningful benefit to their mental wellbeing and enjoyment of work.”

About Simplyhealth

Since 1872, we’ve been helping people make the most of life through better everyday health. Our plans make sure individuals, families and employees can easily access in-person and virtual wellbeing services and afford to stay healthy by claiming costs back on dental treatments, visits to the optician, complementary therapies and much more.

Today we’re delighted to be the UK’s leading health solutions company, with almost 1,000 colleagues serving 2.3 million customers. We don’t have shareholders, so we’re led by our purpose of improving access to healthcare, for the many, for the long term. We’re passionate about using our voice in public health affairs and partnering with charities to reduce health inequality – each year we commit to giving 10% of pre-tax profits to a range of community causes.
