Simplyhealth donates £250,000 between four charities

Leading healthcare company, Simplyhealth, prioritises winter wellness donating a total of £250,000 to four health charities: Heart Research UK, Mental Health Foundation, Oral Health Foundation, and National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society.

This winter, Simplyhealth wanted to give a donation to a selection of charities which are committed to helping support the health of the nation’s heads, hearts and hands – part of its ongoing commitment to donate around £1million every year to good healthcare causes.

To help decide how the donation would be divided, Simplyhealth gave its customers, community, and colleagues the opportunity to vote for one of four charities; Heart Research UK, Mental Health Foundation, Oral Health Foundation, and National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society. The voting was open for two weeks at the beginning of December and 30,661 people had their say before voting closed on Sunday 17th December.

Heart Research UK received the most votes, meaning Simplyhealth donated £122,170.  The Mental Health Foundation was given a donation of £58,760, with a further £42,950  donated to National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society and £26,120 to the Oral Health Foundation.

We are honoured to have been given the fantastic opportunity to be a part of Simplyhealth and Denplan’s winter campaign this year and we are hugely grateful for everyone who took the time to vote for us. The money will be spent on lifesaving research to stop the devastation heart diseases causes. We will not stop, until there are no more deaths from heart diseases.

Lauren Bottoms, Corporate Partnerships Manager, from Heart Research UK

We are absolutely delighted with such a fantastic end of year donation for the Mental Health Foundation. This donation will enable us to continue to support people across the UK to help them protect, sustain and enhance their mental health over the next year which will continue to be a challenging time for many of the key groups the charity supports.

The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) were delighted to be part of the Simplyhealth 2023 Winter Wellness charity campaign.  We are so grateful for the amazing donation we received.  This support will make a real difference to those living with the painful and serious autoimmune condition of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in the UK.

We believe that everybody deserves a healthy, happy winter. That’s why we’re proud to support these amazing charities with each doing such valuable work to look after the nation’s physical and mental health. As a purpose led organisation we are committed to improving access to healthcare for all, and we wanted our customers, colleagues and community to be included in our mission and to make a difference for their favourite charity, without asking them to part with their hard-earned money. Thank you to everyone who voted.
