Simplyhealth donates £30,000 to health charities across the UK

Five UK health charities have received donations totalling £30,000 from healthcare provider Simplyhealth. Nominated by Simplyhealth's own employee 'Charity and Community Champions', Macmillan Cancer Support, NSPCC, Parkinson's UK, Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Tree of Hope all received a share of the funding.

Following an internal voting process by Simplyhealth employees, Macmillan Cancer Support received £10,966.77, NSPCC £7,069.49, Parkinson's UK £4,712.99, Breakthrough Breast Cancer £3,806.65 and Tree of Hope £3,444.10.
These charities were put forward by Simplyhealth's newly elected Charity and Community Champions, a group of individuals within the organisation who have demonstrated their commitment to a number of local communities and charities, in Andover, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester and Letchworth.

Simplyhealth's Charity and Community Champions also donated a maximum of £2,000 to each of their chosen charities at the end of last year, these included: 9th Andover Town Scout Group received £2,000, Rett UK £2,000, Hill House Christian Centre £2,000, Checkemlads £2,000, St John Ambulance £2,000, Lifeshare ltd £1,250, Ronald McDonald House Manchester £750, MacMillan Cancer Support £1,500, Children's Hospice Southwest (Charlton Farm) £500, St Gemma's Hospice Leeds and Home Start Wakefield £2,000, Fusion Youth £2,000, Letchworth Foodbank £2,000.

We have so many people within Simplyhealth who are committed to helping their local communities. Our Charity and Community Champions scheme was developed to recognise the important work that these members of staff undertake. In recognition of their support we made available £20,000 to be shared equally between our 10 Charity and Community Champions, who were able to then select a charity of their choice to receive the funding. The second stage of our Charity and Community Champion scheme saw £30,000 being divided between five UK based health charities. We are delighted that we are able to support these charities and hope that our funding will help them to continue their fantastic work.
