Simplyhealth donates £90,000 to those impacted by the conflict in Ukraine

The UK’s leading health solutions provider donates funds to three charities

Simplyheath, the UK’s leading health solutions provider, has announced further funding in response to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Earlier this year, Simplyhealth matched donations raised by colleagues, corporates, dentists and customers to donate £120,000 to the DEC. Now, Simplyhealth have committed a further £90,000 to be divided between Computer Aid, HALO Trust and Unity.

In March, following the devastating news of the conflict in Ukraine, we made a commitment to raise funds for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. In an incredible response from our colleagues, corporates, dentists and customers, who raised £60,000, we proudly matched their donations, providing £120,000 to the DEC. These funds have been used to provide essential hygiene supplies, blankets, and emergency food for those in Ukraine.

While March seems a long time ago now, the situation in Ukraine has never been far from our mind. We wanted to do more as an organisation to continue our support for those struggling. I’m proud to share how we’ve committed a further £90,000 to three charities supporting those impacted by the conflict in Ukraine.

We have donated £30,000 to Computer Aid to fund one of the first containers to be placed into Ukraine. Providing people who have been affected by the ongoing conflict with access to technology, such as computers and phones, to communicate with friends and family, as well as a centre to facilitate the training of local nurses, to allow more people to receive healthcare.

We have donated £40,000 to HALO Trust to support two new Senior Medical Officers, who will train and develop the skills of HALO Ukraine’s critical medical capacity, in addition to support for the necessary medical supplies.

We have donated £20,000 to a local organisation called Unity to improve access to community resources and health professionals for Ukrainians in the Test Valley, as well as providing events for hosts and families to improve relationships and social interaction.

Simplyhealth is a purpose-led company, we were created for the good of society and our achievement is measured through the impact we make on people’s health and society. Watching the devastating impact the conflict in Ukraine has had on hundreds of thousands of people made us want to act. We have continued our support and we will continue to do more.
