Simplyhealth joins local businesses to support St Peter's Hospice 100 Club

Local healthcare provider Simplyhealth has joined forces with 45 other confirmed Bristol based businesses to support St Peter's Hospice 100 club by pledging to raise at least £1000 for the cause.

The hospice in Brentry, launched its 2012 100 Club initiative at the beginning of the year, with the aim of hitting its fundraising target of £100,000 by December.

Caroline Booth-Morris from St Peter's Hospice comments: "We are asking for the support of 100 Bristol businesses to each raise £1,000 during 2012 to help us further improve our Day Hospice so we can provide even better care for our patients.

"By committing to raise £1,000 in a year companies can help us reach our target of £100,000 which will enable us to make a real difference to our patients and their families."

As well as signing up to the 100 Club, last year employees at Simplyhealth raised over £5,400 for the hospice by taking part in a number of fundraising activities throughout the year, including a sponsored abseil and participation in the Bristol and the Bath 10k runs.

Jamie Wilson, spokesperson for Simplyhealth comments: "St Peter's Hospice carries out some fantastic work in the local community, brightening up the days of people with life limiting illnesses. We are very happy to provide our support and hope that our donations will help St Peter's Hospice to continue to provide this fantastic service."

St Peter's day hospice looks after up to 20 patients each day, giving patients the opportunity to be assessed by skilled nurses and a doctor, but equally as important is the opportunity to be with other people facing similar challenges.

Simplyhealth has active community funds in all four of its locations, Andover, Bristol, Leeds and Manchester, which exist to support charities and organisations in the local community.
