Simplyhealth optimises its health plan for the modern workforce
Simplyhealth, the UK’s leading supplier of health cash plans, has updated its corporate health plan to include worldwide cover, meeting the developing needs of the modern workforce.
In 2017, almost 6.8 million people travelled outside the UK for business purposes*, which is reflected in this new update to Simplyhealth’s health plan, Optimise. From 1st October 2018, employees with access to Optimise will be able to get the healthcare support they need by accessing treatments anywhere in the world.
Pam Whelan, Director of Corporate for Simplyhealth said: “We’ve listened to feedback from the companies that we work with to pave the way for the latest developments to Simplyhealth’s Optimise health plan.
“Modern workforces are increasingly agile as companies are expanding their business activities on a more global scale. Employees with access to Optimise will now be able to maintain their health and wellbeing whilst working abroad, preventing unnecessary stress or financial implications.”
A further addition to the health plan is sports massage when performed by a registered chiropractor, osteopath or physiotherapist.
Pam explains: “As more employees are getting fit and keeping active, requests to add sports massage to our health plan have come in. At Simplyhealth, we encourage people to take a preventative approach to healthcare, so adding sports massage to Optimise will support employees to keep moving, providing benefits to their overall mental and physical health.”
Following feedback from businesses and their employees, homeopathy will be removed from the list of treatments that can be claimed for on Optimise.
Optimise offers six comprehensive levels of cover, providing employees with support towards their everyday health costs and concerns. This includes 100% cash back (up to annual limits) for optician visits, dental treatment and physiotherapy treatment, as well as access to a 24/7 GP service, professional advice and counselling.
Simplyhealth’s health cash plans are available to businesses directly or via intermediaries. It can be funded solely by the business, through salary deduct, a flexible benefits platform or via direct debit paid for by the employee. For more information about Simplyhealth’s Optimise or Denplan, visit: simplyhealth.co.uk/businesses or simplyhealth.co.uk/intermediaries.
