Simplyhealth sponsors new fitness equipment on Bristol’s Downs

Bristol based healthcare provider Simplyhealth is sponsoring a suite of new outdoor fitness equipment on Bristol’s Downs. The new Outdoor Training Integrated System (OTIS) equipment is being provided by Berkley Fitness and has been specifically designed to test and develop physical strength, stamina and fitness.

The equipment includes five fitness stations that provide a range of different exercises which will help users to improve their overall health and wellbeing. The outdoor gym equipment is free to use and is situated at Ladies Mile on the Downs, close to where Simplyhealth’s new office is being built.

We are delighted to be involved, this initiative is a great way to invest in the health and wellbeing of the local community. We hope that lots of people take advantage of this great facility over the coming months and years.
Jamie Wilson, spokesperson for Simplyhealth

Hello, I really value the equipment on the downs and I'm concerned it isn't being maintained since the takeover by axa. Most of the attachments have been removed off the one in the middle of the downs and there is some damage to the one behind the changing rooms.Whose responsibility is it to repair this equipment?Rebecca

Hi Charlie, thanks for your comment. This was an initiative organised by Berkley Fitness in Bristol which we supported through our Bristol Community Fund (which donates funds to local health related charities and causes). We’re not aware if this is something that Berkley Fitness is planning to repeat in other areas of Bristol or beyond. If you would like to get in touch with them to find out then their contact details can be found on their website www.berkeleyfitness.co.uk. Many thanks again.

Great idea, will you be building more sites in different areas?
