Simplyhealth sponsors Tommy’s national baby award

Simplyhealth is delighted to announce that it is sponsoring the Grandparents Lifetime Achievement Award at the Tommy’s Awards 2014. Now in its 19th year, the Tommy’s Awards recognise both individuals and organisations that make a difference to families all over the UK, and in particular those whose lives have been touched by pregnancy complications or the loss of a baby.

The Simplyhealth Grandparents Lifetime Achievement Award recognises a grandparent who has gone above and beyond to care for the generations below after the arrival of a grandchild born too soon. The award celebrates the support they provided not only to their new grandchild, but to their own child too.

This year, Tommy’s is once again partnering with Bounty and will be asking its 2.5 million members to nominate individuals for the award. For every vote cast, the parenting club will be donating £1 to Tommy’s.  The nomination period is open from now until December 2013.

Other awards in this category include:

  • The Tommy’s First Hug Award
  • The Tommy’s Champion Children Award (x3)
  • The Tommy’s Miracle Workers Award
  • The Tommy’s Angel Award
  • The Tommy’s Super Sibling Award
  • The Tommy’s Healthcare Hero Award

The winners will be announced at the prestigious Tommy’s Awards ceremony at the Landmark Hotel, London, on Friday 21 March.

We’re really pleased to be part of Tommy’s annual national baby awards. Having supported the charity with its community outreach activities in 2010, 2011 and 2012 we are aware of just how important the service and advice Tommy’s provides is to parents. The 2014 awards are a chance for others to be recognised for the support they give and we are delighted that this year we will be sponsoring the Grandparents Lifetime Achievement Award.
Mark Day, spokesperson for Simplyhealth
We want to give parents the opportunity to say “thank you” to friends, family, neonatal nurses, GPs and midwives who give comfort and support through the toughest of times. These remarkable individuals are there for parents when they need it most and the Tommy’s Awards is a way of honoring all that they do.
Jane Brewin, Chief Executive of Tommy’s

Since its inception, the Tommy’s Awards have also credited over 200 organisations for making the lives of parents with babies and young children that little bit easier.

Voting for the Tommy’s Awards with Bounty will close on 6 December 2013: go to http://www.bounty.com/tommys-awards-2014 for more details.
