Simplyhealth wins Best Newcomer at the Bristol Travel Awards

Healthcare provider Simplyhealth has won the Best Newcomer award at the Bristol Travel Awards. The company has been based in Bristol for 17 years, but is to open its first purpose built office in Clifton in the new year.

Simplyhealth won the Bristol Travel Award for its travel plan for 402 employees who will based at the new building called Simplyhealth House.

James Glover, Simplyhealth Director
We’re very pleased to have won this award as we are committed to ensuring we have a sustainable travel plan that will benefit our employees and the local area. Throughout the development of Simplyhealth House we have focused on working with our employees to encourage them to take a different approach to their travel, by adopting healthier and more sustainable modes of transport. We’ve appointed ‘Travel Champions’ for car sharing, car clubs, public transport, running, walking and cycling. These people have a particular interest in these areas and can speak with enthusiasm to encourage colleagues to think differently about how they travel to work. When developing our plan we made sure we spoke to every individual employee to get their views and suggestions, and also looked outside our own organisation to learn from others.

Bristol City Council has also awarded Silver accreditation to Simplyhealth’s travel plan. This shows that it endorses its commitment to promoting sustainable travel and making efforts to reduce its organisational environmental footprint. Accreditation lasts for three years. The Travel Awards Ceremony was held at the Bath Banqueting Rooms last night.
