Simplyhealth’s partnership with Teeth Team recognised at The Corporate Engagement Awards 2018

Simplyhealth, the UK’s leading provider of health, Denplan dental payment and pet plans, has been named winner for best CSR activity to support or develop corporate reputation and received bronze for best charity, NGO, NFP programme and best alignment of band values during a CSR programme at the Corporate Engagement Awards last night (26 June 2018).

Since January 2017, Simplyhealth has supported Teeth Team, a school-based supervised tooth brushing initiative targeting five to nine-year-olds to improve inequalities in childhood dental health. Each pupil is given their own toothbrush, which is stored at school, and the children routinely brush their teeth in class everyday with teacher supervision.

Early years’ dental health and influencing systemic change to help create a more sustainable health and social care environment are a key focus of Simplyhealth’s Charitable Giving Strategy. Teeth Team’s pilot programme recorded a 19.8% reduction in children experiencing dental extractions under general anaesthetic, which equates to 133 fewer children and saving the NHS £120,000 over two years.

Simplyhealth has financially supported an expansion of the programme to help more children in deprived areas across England.
